7 Things I’m grateful for

Hey, Michael here and I want to tell you something real quick that most tend to forget.

See, anno July 2010.. Fit Body Boot Camp is turning into the hottest bootcamp in town (whether you’re in Culver City or Santa Fe Springs). But none of this could have EVER happened, had it not been for YOU!

Yes, YOU!

That’s why every morning I wake up TOOTALLY grateful for all our kick-ass clients who come to our bootcamps. Every single one of you is a rockstar. Like, a real rockstar.

And I think it’s this feeling of gratitude that makes a huge difference. It’s so important to realize all the stuff you have in your life sometimes.

At the risk of sounding woo-woo again ->

If you live in an attitude of gratitude, you will receive what you want.

The way this works is that once you KNOW what you want, and you live in a happy (grateful) mental state… the universe will practically realign itself towards your wants.

If you ever watched that movie “The Secret” you’ll know what I mean.

Now all this stuff about being grateful is also super-important for your fitness goals. There’s a saying I once saw on the wall of a local gym that said:

“If you’re not happy with what you have, how could you possibly want more?”

So yeah, even though your body may not be in prime-swimsuit-shape yet… be happy with whatever you have right now. If you then have that positive attitude, you will attract more positive things into your life (such as a flatter stomach, toned legs, etc).

Here are the 7 things I’m most grateful for:

-1- My clients

-2- My business associate Irma Sandoval (she makes my life way easier with all her hard work)

-3- The Dutch Soccer Team – Last weekend at beach bootcamp, my Mom told everyone that I cried because I was so happy when Holland beat Brazil in the World Cup.

At first I denied this, but whatever, yeah, that was true

-4- Living in USA – the opportunity in this country is amazing. Plus, believe it or not, the people here are REALLY nice. And the customer service is awesome. The only thing to watch out for in this country is the portion sizes at restaurants (always cut them in half… especially at the Cheesecake Factory)

-5- Trader Joes – this is my favorite place to get food. You just KNOW that you won’t be fooled into buying ‘high fructose corn syrup’ or ‘trans fats’ here. Pretty much everything is healthy (unlike Albertsons).

Also, if you ever find yourself on-the-go, but you have no meals on hand -> hop into Trader Joes and get the $2 Turkey sandwich (instead of spending $5 on a carb-loaded subway sandwich)

-6- My iPhone – 5 years ago I just wanted my call to go through. Now I check for traffic, order movie tickets, edit movies, etc, etc… all on my cellphone (?!).

Plus, it’s the device with which I call my clients at 4am. Ring Ring :)

-7- Protein Powder – the ultimate appetite killer. Try this: Before going out to eat, have a protein shake. This will kill your hunger and you’ll easily resist the tortilla chips & salsa that come before your meal nowadays in most restaurants.

(consider tortilla chips “little triangles of death”, unless you buy the Blue Corn type from Trader Joes)
